Happy Thursday! For the month of June, I’m highlighting how some new Engaged Pursuit products created big impact across tech teams. Here’s what you need to know in under 2 minutes…
What tech leaders should be thinking about this week: How Engaged Pursuit’s Leadership Lab product could deliver big, immediate impact to organizational engagement and effectiveness. A major tech retailer was really feeling the burn-out earlier this year. Leaders were stretched thin and team performance (+ vibe!) started to dwindle. The writing was on the wall – executives needed a quick, virtual, cost-effective solution to jump-start a lasting transformation. Engaged Pursuit got to work to create a customized, 50-minute discussion called “Reclaiming You,” allowing space for leaders to examine the root cause(s) of their burn-out, the impact on their teams, and (more importantly)specific tactics to get back-on-track. No PowerPoint, no data-points, no frameworks … just 50 minutes creating solutions together.
Why this is important: Tech leadership teams never get the opportunity to just talk. Engaged Pursuit’s Leadership Lab creates space for managers to do just that – brainstorm together on an acute issue facing the organization. It allows for greater participation, diverse options, and more personable action plans. It’s immediate. It’s targeted. It’s different. It’s fun. Want to learn more? Click on the link below.
Where impact hit impressively: The Leadership Lab’s format felt different from the start, and the participants also experienced a new kind of end-result.The top 4 included:
More inspiring lens. From the title to the game-plan, this product is core to how Engaged Pursuit is differentiating itself in the market: Anti-corporate innovation, Outside-eyes truth telling, Human-Wins Devotion.
No (big) budget ask. The executive sponsor didn’t have to makea huge budget request for this solution. Incremental dollars were re-purposed for easy payment.
“One Big Thing” Action Plan. No huge list of things to change; rather, picking just one focus area provided inspiration and easy accountability for all participants. Check-ins became part of future1:1 discussions too!
Team Inspiration (& Performance Shift!). Leaders intentionally shared how they were reclaiming their lives, and team members noticed. They, in turn, worked to optimize their experience to limit burn-out and show-up more focused on delivering results.
Value Add – Additional ways to show-up as a leader: This Leadership Lab was a great reminder for managers to share with their team what they’re working on and how they’re trying to bring additional value to the team/organization. Don’t be afraid to tell your teams where you’re struggling, how you’re wresting with a particular issue and/or the questions you’re being asked as a tech leader. Teams want to know what’s going through your head, and showing-up authentically with your answers will help in your effort to drive impact and inspiration. Try including a “Here’s what I’m thinking” section in your next team meeting!
